Meet Kim Carr Sailors, Developer
Kim Carr Sailors has been part of the building industry for more than 20 years, beginning her journey with spec homes, which inspired her passion for construction. For more than a decade, she worked with John Shryock at Artisan Custom Homes, learning from one of the leading builders in the industry. Today, Kim is co-owner of Carr Girls, LLC, a residential development company of homes and neighborhoods in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
Kim and her husband Mark make their home in Lake Norman. They have a blended family of four children: Taylor, Harrison, Peyton and Reese. They enjoy spending time outdoors and enjoying all things related to water.
Meet John Shryock, Builder

John Shryock began his career in the home building industry framing homes in Raleigh in the 1990s and quickly advanced to supervising homebuilding production for one of the largest high-end homebuilders in Charlotte. In 2001, John founded Artisan Custom Homes, specializing in high-quality, custom-built homes and renovations on Lake Norman and throughout the greater Charlotte region. Today, while leading the company, John also oversees all sales and serves as the primary liaison between clients and the construction team, ensuring clear communication, consistent quality, and a seamless building experience. Artisan Custom Homes is honored to partner with Carr Girls, LLC to develop Rebecca’s Reserve Langtree, a preferred address on the eastern side of Lake Norman, and its sister community, Rebecca’s Reserve Denver, on the western shores of Lake Norman.
John is a graduate of North Carolina State University in Civil Engineering and holds a North Carolina Unlimited General Contractors license. John and his wife Stephanie have four children and enjoy attending athletic events.
